Thanks in advance.

sell the wheels on a VW/Honda forum or ebay and get some MOs in 49mm offset.

Mate used run these rims on his 20SEH Nova van and never reported any problems. Does that 6mm affect handling that much?

Is 43mm a VW/Honda standard offset then?

43's will be fine, but you may need to lose a bit of arch lip. Not all of it mind.

My TH2's are ET43 and they go under with 195/50 888's on em (with all the lip gone mind you lol)

And by the way, your arch has a bit of rust on it!

BT what are your's TH2's,15"s. These are 16"s.Will play it by ear once the Koni's are on. Only going for a mildish 40mm drop, as the car is being setup for track/strip use.

Having had 7 Novas over the years inc a H plate I am surprised in the difference in rear arch lips. This is a genuine 1 owner 53k car which has never had arch's cut in or ground away or any previous welding and the return is only bout 15- 20mm ish?

Said car!

p.s. Thanks for reminding me bout the rust! lol

youll be fine! ive ran ET38 for last 2 and half years with NO issues at all!! I honestly reckon the car holds the road better with these the ET49's

Yeah, theyre 15's. 16's wont cause an issue as far as offset goes lol

Im with you on that, my OZ super T's were ET38, and i also thought they felt better. It was actually the cause of a nice arguement with Mr Watts over a pint one evening!

Its also gonna depend on the condition of your bushes, and the tolerances on the car. Every poerson has a differernt report/story on offsets and wheel sizes. Every nova is different thanks to maufacturing tolerances and age.

Vauxhalls figh offset was never intended to aid everyday handling, so lower ETs may indeed feel better. The ideas was to aid control of the car in a blow out situation.

i used to have the speedlines in 16s with 49mm offset they never rubbed then i put a set of technomagnesios on which were 49mm offset 18" and i just cut the lips off the arches. now just bought some 19" with 42mm offset and i have put the wide arch kit on so they fit.

Im not far from Stoke mate, very near Cannock. The Car is a J plate.

I appretiate everyones contribution:thumb: I have never ran anything bigger than 15" ET 49 rims on any of my Nova's thats all.

BT - I know wheel diameter doesnt affect offset!lol

Sure is the Spinner mate, tis a clean shell.

Vaux,Honda,Rover,Renualt/early BMW's all have a 100mm PCD so in theary will bolt up. Offsets dictate what u fit really. Unless your running flared/blown arches etc.

Mate used to run Clio 16v wheels on his Nova GTE - looked kewl:thumb:

Honda have a huge range of PCDs and offsets thoughout there ranges and years.

Some share the random 114mm rover pcd and others share vauxhalls 100. i think some even have 108mm ford. then theres all the 5 studs on the newer ones... its mad.

I use 15" ET43 Wheels lowered 30-35mm. As mentioned above it very slightly rubs at the rear. A mm or so off the arch lip will get rid of that. Handling wise its fine no problems.

But not all novas are the same may catch more on some and less on others.

Get the wheels machined down to a more friendly offset, iirc the maximum it can be done is 5mm, which would make yours ET48..don't ask me where it can be done though!

My cousin had some 15"s milled down on the rear of my old Antibes. In theory it works but in pratice I personally dont wont to do it especially if I will be using the said wheels on a car speeding around tracks i.e. the ring and doing had lauches at the pod!

altering alloy wheels in anyway from maufacured standard is dangerous and stupid. In my experience even repairing cracks etc in alloy is dodgy. just sell em and buy the correct offset wheels!
