rite lads got a bit of a problem with my engine its been fully rebuilt and that now ive got a problem.

when a start the car the engine turns over then has a little pause then fires up, it seems to idle ok but when a go to give it a little rev it doesnt want to and backfires through the air filter it just rumbles at ya if u no what a mean lol ive had the timing checked with a strobe it seems ok but im woundering if its out

any ideas please help me need it sorted before the weekend as im off to Donny 2007 for the weekend

have you checked the cam timing?

Sounds like the timeing is out there mate check the belt dont bother with the strobe until its running ok check your belt.leads

Sounds like it could sumthing simple like a connector loose or a vacuum tube on the inlet.

Double check all the 'bits n bobs'

Check cam timing and the ignition timing, its firing up through the inlet so its sparking with a inlet valve open.
Ignition timing may be too far retarded, unless its a DISpak engine.

do they have pim sensors if they do check that (pressure intake manifold) sensor think thats what it stands for anyway hope this helps in some way cheers dan
