Hiya guys, I need to renew my piper camshaft as it wore out due to a blockage in the oil rail inside. Im finding it hard to get a camshaft kit for my 1.3SR even a standard cam will do just to get it back on the road. Can I fit a 1.2 Carb cam in it as there's plenty of those kits around? Cheers

what year is the nova? on some 1.3's you need to drill an oil galley in some of the older 1.3's, you should be able to put a 1.2/1.4 in but it wont perform the same as a 1.3 cam

i think its around 83 it needs doing on, it does need doing if you dont have one according to haynes, look on section 13.12/13.13, it says along the lines off
put the old cam so the end of the cam is flush with the camhousing distributor side (not the outer housing, but the surface the locking plate for the cam bolts into, looking at the distributor side straight on you need to drill at 3 o clock, with a 4MM drill bit 16MM deep, between the cam hand housing, so you have half a hole in the housing and half a hole in the cam
if you get a 1.2/1.4 cam, make sure the distributor side matches up
