Fuel damper and that looks much like my brothers one on his Cav SRi, Nice and rusty and seized.

What does it actually do I aint sure and I think they are adjustable but what does it adjust? lol

Nah it aint a fuel reg as theres one on the rail, think its summet to do with keeping the flow 'smooth' ??? Says in the Haynes manual anyway.
As folk say, just get rid of it, it aint needed, i havent ran one on the last few of my Novas and aint running one on my LET. No probs as yet !!

It supposedly smoothes out pressure pulses within the fuel delivery caused by the pump. The injectors pulse the fuel out anyway, so it has a negligable effect.

As said, ditch it as people have with no ill effects. I've got rid of mine too.
