View Full Version : 1.4sr with ast3 4-1 32/34. power?

hi i am currently re-building a nova engine. its a 92 1.4sr, i've fitted a kent ast3 cam, a full janspeed line including manifold, a 32/34 weber carb and a vernier. what i want too know is any1 with the same set up could tell me what the rolling road bhp and torque reads it would be pumpin out. many thanks. spyke:tard:

I'd guess around 90odd, but you'd do better with a 1300 head and inlet manifold as the ports have better flow.

youd get alot better gains with a 1300 head and inlet :)

Doubt you'll get much more than 75bhp/70ftlbs without fitting the better head and inlet manifold.

Ive got a engine to fit which is a 1399 with cam and vernier carb and k+n i dont know what its going to be like but im very interested to find out

are 1.4sr not 90 bhp 2 start off with, how cud the bhp still be the same.

1.4sr are 72bhp standard i think?

You should make about 80 with that setup.
There 72bhp std, but your keeping the biggest restrictions a 1400 engine has, the head and the inlet.
Swap the head and inlet for 1300 items and you'd probably see about 90bhp

i've work done too the head aswell. ported inlets and outlets too match manifolds, polish, skim, up rated valves and followers. whats the difference with the 1300 head? wud a 1200 be any good?

the ASt3 is a bit of a bonkers cam, i hope your bottom end is upto the job of revs.... then again the carb will restrict it down a treat

The 1300 head has much better ports than the 1400, but if you've ported the 1400 out properly then there should be no reason to change.
