ok, i've stripped the old engine, and after having a nosy i have a big dirty crack along one of my pistons, i've been quoted around ?60 per piston delivered, i dont really want to spend ?240 on pistons, im unsure if i need to fit new pistons in sets or if my engine would be happy with one piston?? thanks:D

Try http://www.allittmotorsport.co.uk/, I would think should be a lot cheaper than that!

well these include the rings and pin, but i've emailed them anyway as they dont have a price listed, would i just need to get the one if its just one piston thats dead?

I'd personally just stick all four in, cos if one's like it and you change the one and 2 months later another one goes, its all the hassle of stripping it down AGAIN and paying for gaskets again.

i've had a good look at the rest and they seem fine, but i'll take that advice on board, i was asking mainly as 3 are old and one is new, will it affect the engine in any way? even though the rest will have new rings

coz 1300 bits are cheaper than 1400 for some reason!! They will come with rings and pins. You will need someone with proper kit to put them on the rods though.

i think its because 1300 are used in class 2 tracking, but hopefully the 1400 wont be much more expensive :D

proper kit, does that mean:- an oven, a freezer & a workbench with a decent vice? cos thats what I use.
