Hi,

I'm new to the forum so thought I'd post to say hello to everyone.

I have a grey K reg GSi Nova which has currently been off the road for nearly 2 years. It's sitting in my garage waiting on my to get around to sorting it. The GSi is my second Nova, my first was a 1.4SR and I've always loved them.

The plan is to completely strip it down and restore it, making some improvements along the way. I'm nearly finished a course in welding which I'm hoping is going to prove to be useful as I want to do as much of the body work myself. I also plan to stitch weld the bay and use a chassis strengthening kit. The plan also includes rebuilding the 1.6 engine to help improve my mechanical skills before fitting a bigger engine. I'm still undecided on whether I want a XE/LET or put in a 1.6 16v.

I currently drive a Corrado G60 which I also love but I really want to get stuck in and bring my GSi back from the brink.

Hi again and thanks for all the welcomes.

I have been lurking (not in a sinister way) on these boards for awhile now and thought I would start posting. I had noticed that girls tend to get more replies to their introduction threads - usually asking for pics of them though rather than their cars!

I can post up some pics of my nova over the weekend if anyone is interested. It's basically a standard grey GSi that needs a little TLC. It's got the obligatory Speedline alloys and powerflow exhaust system, I also fitted some vauxhall mudflaps and some astra GSi brakes. The interior is in decent nick (other than a missing fusebox cover and cracked drivers side door cap) but the outside does let the car down a bit. There is some rot on the front wings and one of the rear arches had to get a plate welded in for the last MOT, the other side has since rotted through. The plan is to keep it off the road and strip it down and replace as much of the panels as I can. I want to keep the car as standard looking as possible with some subtle updates - beesting aeriel and delocked doors for a start.

Did anyone read the most recent TV and see the black GSi? If my end product is half as nice as that then I'll be very happy.

I'll get the car rolled out today and get some pics of it in its current state for you.

Right as promised, here are some pics of my nova. I haven't had it out of the garage for nearly a year so I was quite suprised at how bad the rust has got!

This was the arch that needed welded for the last MOT it had. Mainly just surace rust here.

Drivers side seat is in good condition considering the car has covered 111000 miles.
