How easy is it to stick into a 1.2 shell?
What extra parts are needed other then the engine, and what insurance group is a 2litre nova? I know there isnt an exact group, but roughly over say a 1.6 GTE engine...
Thanks in advance.

Basically you will need the fuel tank, lines and pump from an injection model nova as these are higher pressure. you will need a set of modified driveshafts(astra inners, nova outers)and also the gearbox(some ppl like us prefer the c/r F16) but the f20 will fit also. you will need the loom for the 2.0ltr engine along with the ecu. also i would recommend that you get the engine bay seam welded as it may well start splitting at the seams if you dont!!!!. get this done before you fit the engine obviously. you will need to make room on the drivers side chassis rail as the alternator can foul it. It can be bashed with a hammer of some ppl cut out a section and weld in a bit of box section(you will need to fit the engine and see where it fouls before you will know where to modify it) also you can either buy the modified mounts for the conversion from somewhere like PVD or you can modify them yourself. you need to move the drivers side mount at the front down about an inch and the one on the gearbox has to be spaced with washers away from the box by about 10mm (??). I think ive covered most of the essentials. all thats left to do now is drop it in and wire it up which is the bit i am not too clued up on but i think its only a few wires anyway - cue for someone else to explain this!

OOPS forgot about insurance. There are 2 types of 8v engine the 115 bhp and the 130 bhp model and AFAIK the insurance company will up your group to the group that the engine came out of eg if it came out of an astra gte then this will be your insurance group from now on (130bhp engine) but if the engine is out of say an 2.0 cavy (115bhp) then your group will be increrased to that of the cavy. but theres no point in putting in the 115bhp model as that is only 15 bhp more than a gte or gsi engine which would be less hassle and money to fit. get the 130 bhp engine. There are 2 versions of the 2.0 8V. 115BHP - 20ne/c20ne(lower
compression) and the 130BHP - 20se/20seh(Higher compression). just check the codes on the block so you know what you are buying

You'll also need to grind a casting notch off the bottom of the gearbox to clear the tie rod, and you might have to elongate the hole that the passenger side engine mount fixes to, on the chasssis leg,
