So i picked up the GTE spoiler i won off ebay today. Once i look at it the threads on the studs are stripped.
Can i replace these or am i quite screwed on that front?lol (pun intended)
i guess i could double sided tape it like its never seen but i would like to bolt it
dont use tape - it'll come off. I'm sure you can replace the threads - you can buy rods from B&Q of various sizes and you just need a suitable nut/washer on the other end. I'm not too sure how they are attached to the spoiler though - sure you can cut them off then drill into the existing threads with a slightly larger drill bit than the thread you buy - insert thread and bond in place using epoxy resin or similar then once cured just fit.

They are set in the spoiler, and afaik not removable.
How heavy is a gte spoiler? gsi/sri is mega higher but gte looks lighter.
Adhesive/Tape might hold it on, Tigerseal etc.
Or could try ade's suggestion, epoxying new studs in..

well i could try the new studs thing
the gte spoiler has its weight spread out, lots of surface area for tape or glue...the factory tape is around 20mm wide two 2ft strips on both sides, none on the top where the studs are.
The studs are moulded in there after taking a good look. i might drill them out...
rip the old threads out and screw it on from the inside also use some tiger seal or sikaflex to bond it

If its a no go.. I've got a GTE spoiler you can have for a fiver!
the sides are bonded using double sided adhesive foam tape - its about 20mm wide and 2mm thick - this is just to anchor the edges but the top should be screwed in place to ensure a safe bond. The last thing you want is your spoiler flying off at 70mph and hitting the car behind!
Tyr the drilling out thing - if that dont work buy Matts off him - dont try and bond it with sikaflex though - its a rubber based wrap (flexible) and I dont think sikaflex will bond to it. Maybe wrong though...
