You should all count yourself lucky that you can wear oakleys etc....

Due to my non 20/20 vision and inability to manage to keep a contact lense in my right eye (they always fall out) I have to restrict myself to Sunnies from my dad's shop.

That's not too bad as he stocks armani, versache(sp), doir and ray bans but the cost mount up when you have to have skinny prescription lenses as well.
My daily glasses are from a designer called Fendi and the frames alone cost ?199.... add to that the skinny lenses for another ?150 and you're talking ?349.

Good job I get discount.... brought them back down to ?150.

I've even got some prescription swimming goggles... however I only wear them when it rains!

Panic over, I'm back :cool:

No, no tan lines I'm afraid as we arrived late Friday, spent Saturday in the Muttrah Souk and a few shopping malls, so didn't really see much sun there; then worked about 15 or so hours a day from Sunday - Tuesday. Got up at 4am BST on Tuesday (7am local) and so far haven't had any sleep since, about 34 hours lol. Spent most of our evening times getting ratted in the Safari Bar. Only time we did really catch much sun was plodding around the port in Muscat trying to find the RFA ship.

Didn't bring the aviators, as being on a Navy base and ship, I didn't think I'd want to make myself look like something from the RAF lol

you should see some of the critters they have out there :wtf: They did have freeze-dried scorpions in display cases, along with other bugs and suchlike down the market though.

I also appear to have acquired a rather large quantity of local alcohol and jewellery*




*if anybody from customs is reading this, then er, thats not true and you ain't seen me, right...
