i have been modifying my 1.2 nova for abput a year now and it looks good! Trouble i havn't improved the performance yet. What would be the best way to go. I have no money so it needs to be cheap (around ?120 or less)

or he could get a 1.6 carbed engine out of the Cavalier III and fit that? even when he's payed the insurance increase, it's still probably more power to pence ratio than any bolt on gubbins?

well, he'd be looking at a 200+% increase with insurance with the 1.6. Im sure the cav 1.6 is big block and underpowered.
Best bet is a 1.3 conversion, maybe with highlift cam + freeflow exhaust.
All depends how much power your looking for, and how much u wanna waste?
