automatic choke

when i swopped my engine i was going to put the manual choke on but i couldent get it off my old carb, so i put the automatic choke on, not sure if its working properly or not, is there any way to check? it struggles to start in mornings but its had a full engine rebuild and new plugs!

you just have to go off what the engines like, if its hard to start or the revs are too high etc, then its not right, but it sounds like your choke is right enough not to bother with to be honest, aslong as you can get the car started after its been off for a couple of minutes you'll be fine

it will only just start in the morning, and even when ive switched it off to talk to someone it struggles to start, it must be the choke because its had new head gasket, skimmed, new valves, plugs etc
