my gte lump is startin 2 get a bit borin n i want an engine that will be reliable wiv bout 70-80k on it id like a 16 16v but duz it go straight in or duz it require a few mods like the 2l 16v? n how much r these?
or would i b betta off goin 4 a late 16 8valver from a gsi wiv a dis pak n gettin that dodgy turbo place 2 turbo it? would the turbo last providin i used a copper head gasket? but then again i spose id betta do my cv joints first!! :-/

if ur gonna turbo it a non dispac engine is better

1.6 16v = ?? to buy ?? when it goes wrong

16v Nova - Toolkit, Trouble, Points and great expence all come as standard :)

2.0 16v back soon :D

he's not dodgy, he does the job right. Just doesn't lower compression.

the rapid Nova GTE in Blackpool didn't have many problems...

surely if the compression isn't lowered then it would put alot of stress on the engine??? so the engine wouldn't last long if you drove it hard.

Garages sticking to their promises???? not likely!!! :(

This turbo thing has been mentioned before. As far as I know I thought turbo engines run at a compression ratio around 7-9:1. Is this right? In the turbo Novas I know of they either use a spacer and 2 head gaskets or low compression pistons. If the compression ratio is kept std ie about 10.5:1 then with anything but minimal boost the compression ratio must be raised a fair bit. However it is possible to run 12 or 13:1 compression in these engines on fairly std components so I would have thought that it would be poss.if the bottom end was modded a bit and maybe the boost kept down to below 10psi. Anyone know for sure?
