had to take my engine out of me nova today, on me own and only armed with a halfords jack and pair of axle stands:roll:
engine to take out

took all the suspension off and lowered the whot car on to the wheelie bord, undone the engine mounts and jacked the car back up again

but even with the jack fully up the engine was still trapped!
so front panel + hacksaw =

bugger lol
Top marks for effort
I've been telling anyone who'll listen that this is the best way to get a nova lump out. Next time get 2 bits of wood that will fit into the bumper mount holes & just lift the shell like a great big funny looking wheelbarrow.

Haha.
Me and a friend lifted a 1.4 SR engine & gearbox into the boot of my nova. I was quite impressed with myself. lol

yeah Andy, me an my dad got it out well easy tho!
lol ive done it with a jack and axel stands in the past , also refitted it that way which was a bitch, then i got a crane so easy now
as for cutting the front pannel lol , just lift the car up like a wheel barrow and walk it backwards , that what we did

I think that everybody started like that.
pmsl - when I took my engine out I got the missus and her mate to heavy the front of the car over it whilst I rammed a broom handle under the front slam panel and over the engine for "leverage"
was wel funny!
Think Ill buy an engine crane though for refitting - dont think they were v happy!
