Long time .. no post !

Went to a trackday this weekend with a few friends...

All-in-all great fun, i had a oil leaking issue, seemed to be from my breathing system so decided to go easy on the revs and not chuck it about too much !

Well impressed with the performance, Engine was perfectly suited to the track, pulled well and in terms of pure grunt, put alot of bigger/newer cars to shame !

I spun into the grass on the second session, hence the dirtyness.

Nice one, who did you do the track day with ? What did it cost, how much track time ?
Been over to Croft a fair few times and always fancied getting on the track.

we booked directly with croft, due to there being about 9 of us, we recieved a group booking discount.

it cost around ?150ish for a full day, closed pit. So we had 3 20min sessions in the morning, and 3 in the afternoon ! we were the only cars on in our sessions too !

The fastest person was doing around 10 laps a session, so ?150 for 60 laps is quite good !

Just noticed your in Cumbria, we're from, a website called www.GTilancaster.com (http://www.GTilancaster.com) which is north Lancs. It's more of a enthusiasts site compared to the local chav ****. If your interesting in trackdays, sign up and i'm sure we'l be doing another soon !

Link doesn't work, aye i'd be up for doing some track days ... just never really knew how to go about sorting it, so if i'd be able to tag along to some of you guys events then that'd be cool. just up near Carlisle so aint to far away.

sorry Rich, turns out i might be retarded after-all !

It's www.gtilancaster.co.uk (http://www.gtilancaster.co.uk) - the forum is down for a while.

It's a local site, but Carlisle is acceptable ! Get a small post count going and you'l be able to join in on the discounted trackdays were doing this year !

Riggy - It's holding up well. it's in need of some TLC, just sitting around whilst i'm at uni !

Looking good. Cant wait to get mine back out on track. First time back out is in a few weeks time at euro fest at castle combe. And this time with a 2ltr 16v instead of the 1.6 that dropped a valve chassing a scooby there last year.

Thanks for the Nice comments. Yep Dar, it all came back in one peice !

I had an oil leaking problem associated with my breathing system, so i had to go easy on the hard revving corners.

But in terms of pure grunt on the straights, i managed to pull away from a lotus elise, clio 172, 230hp Vectra v6 ! Just goes to show how competetive a mild/hard tuned 1600 can be ! There was a GT4 that even had a problem getting me on the straights, took him half the straight to get alongside (hahha jack)

Yer it's a bit low, looks good on the photo's but i need some ARB's lol

Hey Nick, glad to see you posting again! Hows things? Cars looking great.

Its the same colour as the nova i recently purchased for my girlfriend (see the other thread somewhere) and its getting a full repaint to freshin it up in a few weeks. Tho i think were going to do the bumpers bodycolour and keep the wheels silver :)

Engine bays looking good! As for the breather system, run the crankcase breather into the cam carrier, and run a breather from the rocker cover to a catch tank!

Hi keith, it's a nice colour, mine is a bit old and dull now (even freshly polished) will be interesting to see what it's like when it's fresh. Some pictures would be great as i'm thinking of stripping mine out and getting it painted. Whats the colour name of your GF's ? people often confuse my colour from the pictures

I've currently got the crankcase breather running into the cam carrier, and onto the catch tank. But there is a small pipe that i've missed. Turns out the oil was splurting from that; but you can never be too carefull with oil , as i'm sure you know !

I've been busy. Got myself a immaculate XR2 which i'm trying to decide wether to store or sell. Uni work e.t.c ! But i'm gonna go crazy on the trackdays this summer, so expect some more reports !

All of your flithily low mileage novas are looking great ! Although it's a shame you've gone to the dark-side (bigblock)
