in need of a little bit of advise i have recently put a nova gte engine in ma 1.0 nova av got it in fuiel pump linked up new tank etc av got the lot done.but a stillk have the standard 1.0 harnest in the car so just wondering if any one knows how easy it is to tap in to one 1.0 loom any help would be gratefull or any one with a gte loom and fuse box or that for sale thanks.:thumb:

Try ste porter, he has GTE loom for sale, don't know if ECU is with it tho! Good Luck

apart from the loom that sits on the engine, you need to sort out the temp & oil sender wires, a battery positive, the wire for the ecu warning light & an ignition positive, which is the trickiest. What you have to do is trace the clear wire from the 1.0 coil back to the dashboard, and replace it with a standard wire. the reason for this is that the clear wire is a 'ballast resistor' for the 1.0 coil, and it won't supply enough voltage. replacing it with a std wire will. you must do this or the engine won't fire up. the diagrams in the haynes are good enough for you to sort out the different wire colours & sizes.
