got the engine started today started ok but once warm the revs raised quite high so i turned it off but it wouldnt start so i disconnected the fuel pump and it started up but once i connected fuel pump back up it died and if i stayed started it would run lumpy and if you pressed the acclerator it died too any ideas??? just had new rings if that helps

whats it running on? carbs or standard sfi unit

sounds like over fueling.
thats why wont start again... flooding engine.
have you got fuel pump relay connected?
not taking the pi$*....:thumb:

Get it put on the relay, thats what its there for. So the ecu can control the pump, and to switch the current needed.
If you roll the car, sets aligh and fuel pipe splits, your pump is constantly on.... what could happen is easy to see.

Keep trying to start it is not going to do your new rings much good, need to start running in as soon as its running ok.

What pump are you using?
