Hi chaps

Got an engine (C16SE) from a GSI, i am putting it into my Nova in place of the original 1400 SR unit, and using my carbs; so will be binning the injection system.

I understand the C16 has an igntion module rather than a dizzy, what do i need to use??? As i was told with the E16 i could use my dizzy fromy the SR engine

Could do you thats an idea, although speaking to my dad who has seen the engine, he seems to think it had some kind of coil and dizzy on it (it is a very early GSI)

they all have ignition modules, the 1400 one is under the coil, the problem you'll have is no vacuum advance, your best bet would be to see if you can get a 1.6 carb dizzy, i think the old astras had 1.6 running on carb?

it would have a distributor on the engine to distribute the spark

Is it definently a c16se Sam?
Dispak, no airflow meter, metal ecu case etc?

The dizzy will fit in place of the dispak.
Just remove the plate that the dispak bolts to and fit your 1.4sr dizzy.

Actually Ad, i think its an E16SE as my dad took a photo and showed me, and it has an AFM and dizzy on it, plus it is out of an early GSI
