hi, was wondering if a 1.3 sr head will fit on a 1.6 gte block?
if so would i gain anything?
it will be running on t40's aswel.:thumb:

im sure a mate had a 1.6 bottom end with a 1.3 sr head an XR2 twin choke webber with 4 branch manifold, not sure if it was any quicker,id just put the 1.6 gsi/gte engine in it with the t40's bolted on.

Keep with the gte head.
Way better than 1.3sr.

GTE!
sri head pushes cr up too high.

anything over 11:1 is a bit lairy for road use... pushes combustion temps up and can heat cycle the pistons too much

Someone on here tried it, and their engine would hardly run at all.

If you look at a sri head and a gte/gsi head side by side you realise why, sri head is a super skimmed gte head.

i remember someone posting up the cumbustion chamber volumns before, anyone else remember it cos i could work out what the compretion ration would be if i knew that

i was told that a 13. and a 1.6 head were the same, dont know if that is true

Think that might have been me:confused: can't remember how I worked it out but the only real way to measure the combustion chamber volume is to er, measure it! lol

I'm running a skimmed a few times 1.3 head on an sri bottom end and the cr is around 11:1, probably higher. It refuses to run well unless it's drinking super unleaded.

I know fitting the 1.6 head to a 1.3 drops the cr enough to run a low-pressure turbo system.

Yep/\
If you look at a 1.6 head you see why its drop cr so much, deep combustion chambers.
