Alex.
20-03-07, 03:50 PM
I can't do my work or anything constructive if my room is a tip or not how I like it.
Also have some routines like tapping my toothbrush twice when I run it under water. Just silly little things.
Doesn't sound like you've got OCD, just some things that make you nervous. I could bore you all day with what I've learnt about OCD, but it's quite interesting.

Does OCD now stand for Obsessive Contradiction disorder?

I sometimes go back to check if the car is locked, sometimes twice. maybe I'm just forgetful. I've watched enough monk to know what it is though!

I do that. Except I check both cars, the house and the garage a few times. However its justifyed because I have found one of the cars or the garage unlocked before.

i think ive got ocd, all the vents on my car have to be straight, the steering wheel has to be straight before i leacve and the seats must be the same amount forward

im mad lol

Jack
20-03-07, 04:55 PM
Thats not OCD, thats just making it tidy. OCD would be going back every 5 minutes to check if the vents were straight, and having heart failure if they weren't or if you couldn't check them for some reason lol

I've got a crappy short term memory too; e.g. I've been known to totally forget what I'm doing when I'm brushing my teeth and stand in front of the sink for a few minutes trying to figure out what I'm doing.

i think most people have occasional short term memory loss. i cant go a day with forgetting what i was doing, as in ill be working on a car and then walk over to me tool box and forget what i went for.... i think its normal tho. and as for the cars being locked......**** mine lol i remember with the td whilst it didnt have driveshafts (so couldnt go anywhere) i used to play a game each day and guess which door would be opened by someone

my granny had ocd really bad,her house collapsed on her family when she was 15 and she was trapped in rubble for a few hours and she got ocd from that.spent a good half an hour washing her hands, made us fold our clothes in weird ways and do all sorts of things,i just thought it was normal til i got older.

The little things turn into bigger things, Why do you think you tap the brush what does it do? Its the routines that make it obsesive ive got plenty.
Ive been told bu the doctor i have it, ive had it for 10 years it doesn't really get any easyer unless im pissed its all about nerves.
Even tho ive got it it doesnt bore me to hear about it because everybodys ways are different, long have you had those routines for luv?
