Going to be fitting some ARP rod bolts next week as i know these tend to be weak on xe's. Just went to order them and ive got two choices for an XE:

c20xe rod bolt kit ?53
c20xe pro series 2000 rod bolt kit ?82

What is the difference?

Are the normal ?50 ones more than adequate for an engine on 7500rpm rev limit?

Also is it worth changing the main studs while im down there? or are these plenty strong enough on an xe?

Thanks!

i'd say the normal one's will do but if you decide to put more power through and rev it more in the future go for the pro one's. according to the haynes explains the mains are strech bolts pal, also the flywheel bolts personnaly im not getting them but there are arp flywheel bolts aswell, if you dont come across any chris astley does them ive seen them on the rack in his store room.

Hi mate,

The normal ARP items will be fine for 7500rpm, the pro series ARP 2000 bolts are for use with even higher rpm and steel rods mostly.

And as stafford says above, i have plenty in my store room, lol.
