hi,

i am experiencing trouble engageing 2nd gear in my nova it is very sticky when i attempt to do so.

i have been told it is because my clutch is heavy but i cant see it being that, i think it is definately something to do with the gear box itself.

i just want to know if anyone experiences the same problems as me and what i can do to sort it out?

are you sure it aint the linkage thats just all gooed up and needs cleaning/greasing, is it the same when the engines off?

if its ok with the engine off then it may well be something to do with the clutch as drive would be going to the gearbox, does it crunch into gear?

yes it is abit better with the engine off.

well it might be the clutch then. would make sense, ill have to check both then

Check the alignment of the link rod to the selector housing.
How far up does the clutch pedal travel before you get drive?

the clutch has to be right the way to the floor and the clutch doesnt have to be lifted very high until it moves of in 1st

try adjusting it then see if that helps

try adjusting it then see if that helps

If after adjusting it, the pedal should bite a little lower than before, if not, you need a clutch.
