1.6 GTE engine (E16SE) fully reconditioned in December, all seals and gaskets replaced, painted etc. Ported head, 4 branch manifold, Vernier pulley.
16" speedline allesio's
lowered 60mm all round (not 100% sure on what make suspension tho)
full piper exhaust system
Clear rear lights
laguna splitter
alloy fuel cap
rear honda jazz wiper.
infiniti 6by9's
OMP steering wheel

i noticed this when it was for sale on here, unless its had different wheels on it before, there is no need to flare out for speedlines, the fit under fine :S

dont really know any history of the engine mate...

i know it been sold on a few times after it had the let fitted

dont know yet just taking the engine out

think going to put the 1.6 or the 2l engine's i have in the van and then sell it

update and some help needed...

iv got a engine stand on its way for the re-build and iv got the chirs astley motorsport strengthening kit and cold running thermostate

can anyone give me some hints on what internils and preformance parts i will need to get my c20let engine to produce 300bhp +

heres a few questions.....

i have heard strandard pistons are fine to use?

what conrods r best to use?

what bottom end bolts i need to upgrade?

am i best to uprate the oil pump?

on the fueling side ,injectors and fuel pump ,strandard 2.0 or uprated

do i uprate the cams to ?

what sort of ECU ,chip etc to use

can some one tell me more about lightin and balancing ,ie ,crank ,flywheel etc whats the point of doing this ??

if anyone has anymore ideas then please tell me

i want the bottom end to be bullet proof ,money is,nt really a prob

chips use ph3.5 from regal(EDS).regal do low comp pistons.arp rod bolts.seen z20let oil pumps used.thats as far as i know of.hope that helps abit

been at the car most of the day again got the wings,brake servo off and got it back on its wheels

well got a good bit done the last few weeks cut the front panel off,told underseal off and started to cut out all the rust.

no idea but i did get it in wales

it used to belong to a lad called mol who owns the club 'darknights', he got it of a lad that lives at the end of my street.... this car has been looked after for years, good to see it put to some good use lol

sorry to hear about your old black nova, but love the gsi, defo the best colour they made a nova in, good work on the bay, looks umuch better and stronger now.

thanks everyone the engine will be going in next week so i will keep you's up to date

when we put the xe in my last nova we put the engine in from the bottom but iv been told it is easyer to put it in from the top is this true??

no way!! bottom only! it is possible to do but u will never get it in there without scratching the bay and you still have to take the lower arms off. if you put it in from the bottom you can keep the engine level and makes it so much easyer. looking good so far

thanks for the help thats what we are going to do

Update :D

Me & mate were up there most of the day, got the nova loomprity much sorted, breaks, suspention n loads of other little jobs done, take a lot of time to find all the bits that i have lost lol!!
then my other mate came up about 7 got the timing belt done for me, swapt the gear box round as the old one had sheard a nut, then we got it in place to fit tomorrow.

you mite need to move the rad forward to clear the turbo. you can get away with just pulling the top forward and straten it up. looking good tho.

im having a hard time fitting my ancillary hose kit i have got 3 pipe's on so far.

the pipe's iv fitted one is down the back of the engine very small one (icv i think?),one to the heater matrix and the last one is go's to the pipe below the top hat.

the yellow pipes that are fitted to the engine are bodged together and i would say most of them are not right for the car so its very hard to tell where the pipes go any help would be good.
