^^^Thats also more than my mates mini who is on fully comp and his has a 1.3/1.4 in it...
No claims can only be used on one car anyway, so your dad couldn't use that on your car.
Be prepared at the least, to pay around the ?1500 mark.
I paid nearly ?1200 when i was 18. On a 1.2i(lower insurance grp than 1.2 carb)
Try Liverpool victoria, norwich union, elephant etc.

^ Only if the car will be living at your mum's house. Lying about where the car is stored is insurance fraud and will leave you open to prosecution.
Elephant are owned by Admiral, so you'll get a similar quote from them (albeit in my experience a little cheaper).
its probably because you haven't passed yet?
Learner drivers tend to have cheaper policies.
what is Voluntary excess???
Excess is what you pay in the event of a claim. Say you claimed for ?750 worth of damage to your car, and the insurance company agreed to pay out - if you had a ?500 excess, you would pay the first ?500 of repairs, the insurance company pays the remaining ?250.
Excess comes in two forms, voluntary and compulsory. Voluntary is the amount you select to lower your policy, and compulsory is the amount the insurance company dictate you must pay (usually depends on your age/experience). A compulsory excess of ?250 + voluntary excess of ?150 = total excess: ?400.
There's also a link in here somewhere to insurance postcode regions (do a search for it). It'll tell you what risk rating you live in. [edit] Its here (http://www.novaload.net/forum/showthread.php?t=50081)
Also; try getting quotes for other cars. Then you can decide whether or not the quotes for Novas are expensive. You may also want to try a quote on a 1.4 Nova, in my experience they've sometimes been cheaper to insure than 1.2's as the claim rate is lower.

Thanx alot ... im just gunna try my mums address now because i can keep it up there aswell if i like ... its a better area than my dads. I wish i didnt give the insurence companies my number they keep bloody ringing me haha lol

wow me as named driver and up at my mums area instead of my dads .. with ZENITH-SWINTON = ?1,693.42 (javascript:launchPopupWindow('details.asp?queryre sultid=2901000000000025842&providerid=24&ChannelID=2&CoverIndicator=01&QuoteID=0&userID='); document.getElementById('MotorApplyDirectForm0r117 4058019921').submit();) a year third party fire and theft thats dropped alot
^ Only if the car will be living at your mum's house. Lying about where the car is stored is insurance fraud and will leave you open to prosecution.
so when i sleep at my girl friends house on weekends, my cars not insured
NovaLad
16-03-07, 03:39 PM
Lol ... i think he means if its declared off the road ... and its declared at a certain address otherwise ... if its been moved then it shows youhave drive it etc... and your not insured to do that
Jon_nova1
16-03-07, 04:57 PM
putting your dad on might increase insurance, spouse or partner can reduce it, so if you have a 30 year old female partner with 10+ years no claims it could come down, if you live in a dodgy area get a quote with a thatcham alarm fitted, if its alot cheaper consider getting an alarm ;)
NovaLad
16-03-07, 05:10 PM
Well it dropped a couple of hundred just by putting my mum postal code on the insurence instead of my dads ... and thats also with just me as the driver and no 1 else... I guess i shouldnt be thinking about this as much and consentrating more on my test etc... But i liek to think money problems ahead so i can prepare for them lol ... I'll do literally anythign to get the money together!!! Nothing sexual haha!!!!
NovaLad16
Fcuk paying that much.
I'd wait a bit,Lol.
Keep with the moped until your 18+
NovaLad
16-03-07, 06:00 PM

Id insure it from your mums house without thinking twice, after all she is your mum, u do live there from time to time so id love to try and see them try and prove otherwise. :thumb:
Oh and my first year of driving i went on my dads policy as a named driver, and when i finally went on my own policy last month it shaved ?500 off my insurance due to one years exp.
NovaLad
16-03-07, 06:07 PM
Dam 500 off thats good ... what did it cost before hand ?? are you on fully comp???
ANDYRACER
16-03-07, 06:16 PM
I paid ?800 as a named driver on my first car, 1.4 16v corsa sport.
Ive just insured my Cavalier Td in my own name and i was originally quoted ?1850, when i told them i had been a named driver and could prove this it dropped to ?1350. :D
Remembering that my cav td is group 8 insurance, before i blew my corsa sri up i was quoted ?1200 a year on a group 7 corsa sri.

Hmm sometimes i don't get insurence... I wounder how their computers really work..."A hamster on a weel??"....
NovaLad16
I haven't read the whole thread, but have you tried confused.com? I've found to be quite good..worth trying Tesco aswell as they seem to be cheap...
My sister is still on a provisional licence and she's insured (TPFT) a 1998 1.3 Fiesta for ?800, that's a 10% online discount + another 10% because i'm with Tesco aswell..
NovaLad
17-03-07, 10:32 PM
Cheers ill try them and get back to ya!! **
NovaLad16
try liverpool victoria, theyve always been cheap for me and also try adrianflux and elephant . they are usually the cheapest three
NovaLad
17-03-07, 10:42 PM
ive tried all them but adrianflux... tesco and confused.com where giving me quotes up to 3 grand...
how much did liverpool victoria quote you as im only paying ?700 for tpft on a gsi and ive only got a years no claims and had me licence for 18months
NovaLad
18-03-07, 01:27 AM
Liverpool Victoria if i aint allready wrote it down i think was just under 3 grand!!!...I'll try adrianflux in a min ...
NovaLad16
Like already mentioned if you have a postcode starting OL you are going to take a big hit right away as its the worst postcode in the country. I'm still paying ?700 fully comp on my car at 25 with 6 years no claims etc because of the postcode.

bare in mind insurance rates change monthy so one month it would be cheap and another month it could sky rocket !!
Monthly? They usually change depending on what time of the day it is lol
i think If you name your mum as a driver it lowers your price aswell, it did for me like.
NovaLad
