rotten bettery tray. get the carpet out to dry it off and let the shell dry out. get the battery out and have the tray repaired.

If tis nto the battery tray then its the heater matrix (does the windscreen steam up when you turn the heater on?)

Ellens got a moist rug!

Yeah either battery tray which is disturbing as the fuse box is below or even could be the lower edge of the screen seal gone.

So long as it isnt left soaking wet for too long, it shouldnt harm the shell (rust).

Look under the dash in the centre. (below headunit) you should see where the heated air comes from for your feet. Put your fingers in through the holes & feel for any water or crystallised stuff (thats antifreeze btw) if its leaked, its usually wet there, and on the carpet on the centre console/tunnel.

If not pull out the carpets & sound deadening & sit in the car with a hose pipe running over the outside. See where its coming in.

There is a cable which runs through the battery tray, it should have a grommet or some sealant around it otherwise it lest water in. If this isn't present (as mine wasn't) it will let water into the footwells even if the battery tray isn't rotten.

the tray might look fine but try stabbing it with a screwdriver...

For the aerial IIRC.

ok i admit it, i pass your house before you get in your car and i always get abit excited and make a mess.

it can only really be a rotten battery tray, the grommet for the ariel, but if its everyday, it would either have to be raining all the time or your heater matrix? have you checked your water?

if your matrix has gone you'll be loosing water though your water bottle check the level and if all seems okay it wont be the matrix, also peal back the carpet on the front wings as water can get in though them, hoob had this problem bit of sealant and its sorted.
