Im just starting on aother project nova mk2, white which i think is a great coulor. Ive so far put full suspension kit lower 6omm set of clear rears a set of 17 inch rims et49 fit very well. I bought a set of driveshafts for 2.0L conversion the inners are 2.0L and the outers are 1600 so it makes it easyer but now im not sure of fitting 2.0L i thought of going for the 1600 with a turbo conversion wat you think which engine and why?

a 2.0 would be easier and cheaper as turbo conversions arnt cheap. the engines never going to be as reliable as the redtop either.

c16xe as they are a handy tool and not as common as teh c20xe. Downside the 20xe has more power more torque from std and is a piece of pish to fit weight problems arent an issue as there isnt a lot in them. A c16SE is a safe bet, 1600 8v with a nice set of 40's some head work, etc etc etc and its a killer ask dan.

its the boring age old argument about which is "better"....

tbh I can see copious benefits/fun from both methods... Its all down to how much you want to spend and what your final overall goal is really.

Oh no, today I found out about my mistake! I thought that I posted in the old school threat! Sorry guys!

To the engine question!

I think that the better engine is the small block 1.6 engine. It's the best weight for the front axle. The handling is teriffic and you can get also a lot of power out of this engine.

The most powerful engine is for sure the C20LET, 2.0 16V Turbo. Make a electronic update, install a big intercooler and you are able to get over 300 bhp out of the engine.

Simple installation, maximum power.

The question should be:
What do you wan't to do with your car?

Driving some kind of rallye = 1.6.
Driving Motorway, blow everything away that comes = LET

/\/\ Deffo.

if you want easy reliable power go redtop (XE or LET) but if you want to stand out from the crowd, an 8v with a turbo gets my vote all day.

The power delivery on a forced induction 8v is fantastic, torque from tick over!
