ive just realised i might have a problem. basically im going to do a 5 stud conversion which meas having the bigger outer hubs, but i want to ue the f13 on me x16xe but they are the little cvs. so is there any shafts that will fit the bigger outer and normal inner?

No, don't think so !?! Only way to do it will be to get some shafts cut & joined so you've got small block inners & big block outers.
Might be worth having a look at some Vectra's sure some of the later 1600's had 5 stud hubs, so maybe they used small block outers ??

its either that or can say an f20 be bolted to an x16xe??

Sure it would, you'd need some sort of custom flywheel tho ??
Theres a guy on JOV with an F28 on a 1600 8v so it is possible.

hmmm worth looking into as ive got shafts that fit , big cv to big cv so i guess an f2 would be the way to go

Would a 1600 pull ok on an F20 ? (the 1600 8v was Turbo'd with the F28).
If you've got all 4 shafts (to suit big & small CV's) then you could get them cut & rejoined with small inners & big outers, i've just had a shaft shortened (cut & rejoined) for my LET'd Nova cost ?40, these guys done it ...

Why do you want to fit 5 stud anyway? harder wheel selection etc.

I agree if the 5 stud conversion is going to cause hassle don't bother.

cant see the wheel selection being that difficult... tons of them available in gm 5 stud pattern. plus means not having to get big 5std discs redrilled.

personally i wouldnt bother but there is no proper reason not to...

I'd stick with 4stud and small block box tbh.

Altho theres more wheel choices in 5stud... Can nick a set of softstars off a vectra etc...

Seems a lot of effort for not much gain(apart from not having to drill discs)

ive already got the 5 stud rear beam and front hubs plus the v6 brakes all round so rude not to use them plus its the wheel selection that is making me put the 5 stud conversion on as i want cavvy turbo wheels :)

5 Stud conversion is easy just not on a small block.

Ben

And IMO there is a far better wheel selection in 5 stud and there normally much cheaper.

Theres a better selection of 5 stud wheels if your wanting 17's but there isn't that much choice in 15" & 16" to suit a Nova !!

Got to disagree there...

Omega's all have 15"-16"

Vectra's Have 15"-16"

Calibra/cavalier turbo's/v6's have 16"s

MK4 Astra's have 16"s

etc etc

Theres a lot more choice in 4 stud, i've got 5 stud on my Nova, theres about 1/2 dozen Vaux wheels that will suit & fit a 5 stud Nova, you'll struggle to find any after market 5 stud wheels in 15" / 16" as pretty much everyone with 5 stud Cavs, Calibras, Vectra will always go for 17"+

as said im only doing it because i want cavalier turbo rims on me new one so i dont care what other wheels are out there

lashednova... to do a 5 stud conversion you build a disk rear beam as normal but get a v6 5 stud set up instead of 4 stud. for the front its easiest if you do like i did and buy complete cavalier v6 front hubs with brakes and everything. then you have the hub pressed out and have it machined to ft a nova bearing the just press it into the nova knuckle. then obviously bolt the v6 brakes on aswell. really is easy to do

plus if you can get hold of them you could fit ghey VX220 front wheels all round (with intresting spacers as they are ET26)

I don't know if you can get them anymore but Peter Maiden Components did some shafts that where 2l one end and Nova sized the other end. However they where expensive.
