Hey well i have just found out that my drivers said brake pads have faded and is now metal hitting metal after my dad drove it home to find out it was red hot :tard:

Anyway i have decided to take this mishap into consideration n buy myself some 2.0l 16v brakes.. my questions are these.

1. Are they a staight swap? my car is a vauxhall nova mk2 j reg 1 litre life.
2. List of parts i need please.
3. will they fit under my standard 14 inch ( i think) wheels (white vauxhall hubcaps over the top of steels)
4. can someone be kind enough to give me a step by step guide?
5. pictures would be of a great help of if u know of somewhere where they have a good example and a step by step guide post up the link :thumb:

that is all lol for now.

Thanks

they just fit under 14's.
its a piss easy swap. all you need is a 10mm alan key and a 10mm socket to take the fuel line off and back on(which is also the same) and thats it!

discs, pads and calipers. every thing you take off, replace with the new parts.

well i just sold some for ?25 iirc for discs, calipers and pads(though its recomended to change the pads)

thats all you need. its a worth while mod and doesnt cost a lot. shouldnt take more then 3hours either.

It's probably not really necessary for a 1ltr but a good idea if your planning an engine upgrade in the future.

Don't worry about uprated discs and pads either. They'll definately stop your 1ltr.

Wheels you have described sound like 13's in which case they won't fit.

i would of thought that you needent have to replace the calipers jus make sure they are free and new discs and pads would be fine and if youm do change them do all the colts with copper grease coz if you hav to dismantle them again it will be so much quicker and you wil appreciate it to lol

yep it should be done, and close is where you have to take the weights of the inner alloy so they dont hit the caliper on the way round lol

you could always get astra alloys as a cheap mod to fit the brakes? is it just front or rears too?
