Rev Meter

My rev meter needle jumps about all over at anything over 4000 rpm and sopmetimes it doesn't even start at all. Sounds like a loose or bad connection somewhere, where do i check?? thanx

if it is an original one then it could be a loose connection anywhere. The most likely place is on the back of the instrument cluster. The rev counter wire was not part of the 12 pin plug but an extra wire that was fixed in place with a little nut. check if that is tight. if it is, then best off running a new wire from the coil to the instrument cluster. thats what i did. let me know how you get on.
