Below 1k revs my oil light keeps commin on and then going off when the revs have gone passed the 1k mark. i have checked the oil and it is on the max line so it doesn't need filling up. Any ideas

u maye have a huge problem looming with the oil pump, does the car still sound nice and smooth with no rattles and such?

sounds a little bit louder from inside
but is running smooth at the moment

Could be oil pump knackered, could be bottom end failure (knocking noises), could be partially blocked pressure sender unit. Whatever it is, get it checked out quickly just to be safe.

**Why take 16V's onto the track when u can use 8?**

hhmm, my 1.3 used to do that. red light comes on below 850rpm. did it for 20k miles, didnt seem to hurt anything!

as it says in the haynes "low oil pressure at idle isn't a prob" for the pressure release valve it's on the front of the oil pump
