removing the black side bits under the bump strip is one huge pain in ass, any1 agree?

think he means the vinyl not the sticky glue left from the rub strips
just use a heat gun bud!

yep it does that stuff aswell, you can remove the one on the door inabout 15 seconds and leave the paint fine lol

yeah i remember the first time i done it i had no hot air gun or nothing i was using a hair dryer to losen it and my nails to peel it. it took about 8 hours to do a right pain in the ass lol

i did mine with a bit of petrol and a rag... was easy enough:-)

yea im using heat gun and then gettin the sticky **** of with white spirit, is such a pain in ass and boring, also im uncovering hidden rust!

The vinyl traps water between the vinyl and the metal... therefore it is a prime place to rust.
Most Nova's rust from the inside out on the doors so once the surface of the paint breaks its bye bye doors. On my old SR one door was full of filler from a previous owner and the other was bascially held together by the vinyl.
