I dont think there are any difference as there are no imobilsers etc. Its just a matter of early 2.5 motronic or late 2.8 - I know i got swapped mine with no issues, i dont even remember checking the codes.

Ive been told that it dont matter what ecu you use as it will work with the early or late engine. But apparently if you use the early one its a better ecu and you get abit of a gain.

Nah it wont/\
The later management is completely different to early, it has DISpak, different air flow meter, air intake temp sensor, cam sensor etc.

unless they are talking about early meaning 20xe -no cat with dissy,
and late meaning c20xe, with cat and dissy

Surely a lambda-less type ECU wont be of any use on a C20 lambda equipped engine?

As Ste said basically.

it will, it will run the engine, i did this on my xe, as i couldn't be ****d putting a lambda in the manifold, as it didn't have a hole for it, and it ran fine :thumb:

Ahh right.
I assumed he meant late and early management versions.

To answer stafford's question tho, you'll just need a DISpak xe ecu.
Should work fine.
