I think you will need aftermarket management. The extra fuelling, timing issues & knock control will be outside the spec of the std map.

You could have the Motronic live mapped perhaps.

plus 12.5:1 is a tad on the scary high side too..... unless yovue got bonkers cams.

Sounds like it needs TBs to run properly.

not nessecaraly, but if its running a silly CR to compenstate for silly cams then TB's would be a huge benefit..

the person who had it before me was running tb's and cams with aftermarket management but is there any way i can get it to run correctly for now eg getting it mapped.

yes get it mapped properly.

ultimately what do you want to do with the engine (spec wise) and what have you got at the moment?

after a while i will eventually get some tb's and cams but cant afford at the moment it has forged pistons, arp head stud conversion, arp rod bolts, grp a bearings, steel headgasket and a ported and polished coscast head with everythin else std, what would i tell the people that i get to map it

can you get away without using it for now? and then save up to get all the work done at once to save two mapping trips...

not really, how roughly does it cost for a remap

depending on the map in the ecu at the moment, it would be a cse of backing the ign off and maybe leaning off the fuel a bit... Id guess atleast 2-3 horus on a RR @ say ?50 an hour.. thats a totally rough estimate to be fair.
