when i look on my profile page it says i have 1 referal , whats this all about ?

IIRC, when someone joins the site they can select who referred them. Alex put me down when she joined, hence I have one referral.

As already said, referrals are when someone tells the new forum system who it was who referred them to the site. I can find out for you who you referred if you like.
