this might be a silly question but can anyone tell me how to make my 1.2 nova faster without a complete engine swap as i cant afford 2.0 insurance. any help appreciated cheers.

theres more engines than the 2.0 pal, lose the seats and anything you dont need

Ive had two 1.2's and there really is now way of making it faster, except remove seats etc etc.

You can make it 'feel' faster by fitting stiffer suspension, SR/SRi/GTE/GSi seats, small steering wheel, decent rubber and a noisy exhaust.

Id go for that option to be frank.

you could always stick a 1.4 bottom end in on your 1.2 head with a 1.4 sr cam:thumb:

But then it'd effectively be a 1400 and you would have to tell Mr Insurance of course or that would just be naughty

1.3 inlet and carb , 1.4 sr cam and a gte non cat exhaust system , bout the best you will get without big work :thumb:

yep cam it up, better carb, you could rebuild the engine, freshen it u a little, might have lost a few ponies over the years

you could pull the head off and 3-angle the valve seats gives them a btr seal and put a 1400 crab on should go quicker then
