ok after having had the car for nearly a month now thought it might be a good idea to finaly do a project thread

she has been named karla(thanks riggy lol) she's a 1.2 at the present, i got her very very cheap as she was a non runner have do a few bits and bob's to her so far and have quite alot more in store for the old girl :D
ok here she is as i got her
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v148/cooper_nova/DSC00034-1.jpg
small ammount of bubble rust on bottom of doors which has been rubbed down and glassed over
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v148/cooper_nova/DSC00037-1.jpg
flushed boot isn't as good as looks in the pics, the final layer of filler looked liked it was finnished with 60grit paper lol
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v148/cooper_nova/DSC00035-1.jpg
fronts good all behind the slam pannel's mint near on, no rust on light bowls or strut tops(not been welded either)
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v148/cooper_nova/DSC00033-1.jpg
arches are spotless nearly slight surface rust on off side
the alloys came with it too

the reason she was a non runner was the starter motor shagged and also it was running on 3 cylinderslol
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v148/cooper_nova/DSC00032-1.jpg
found out why that was tho.... one of the lobes for an exhaust valve on the cam had broken off  causing it to blow back through the inlet manifold
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v148/cooper_nova/DSC00031-1.jpg
thats the one there!!!lol

after she was running right i had to change the n/s/f wheel bearing and it was fooked beyond belife, but after that was sorted i could start on the good bits!!

the alloys on there were ok,but not my cup of tea so i manged to get a bloke i know to do a straight swap for his cav slabs:D
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v148/cooper_nova/DSC00051.jpg
looking better
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v148/cooper_nova/DSC00050.jpg
sooo much better now :p

then i had a little bit of luck on ebay
first on the agender after the alloys was to sort out the horrendous brakes that vauxhall put on the nova..so i came up with these little beauties for 40 notes:D
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v148/cooper_nova/DSC00052.jpg
soo much better at stopping now that i can get rid of the anchor that was needed with the oe set up lol
whilst i was collecting the brakes i got the bloke so part with some clear rear clusters for the sum of 15 notes, which i have changed the apperence of by tinting the top half red
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v148/cooper_nova/DSC00054.jpg
also if you look at that pic you will see(just) the back box i got off ebay for the costly price of 5 notes:thumb: nice magnex s/s item with a 3" single rolled tip

both inner wheel arches were rot(only bits on the whole car tho)
one light beam too low and the horn not working and tyre issuses( rears rubbing on shocks).Got them sorted tho and heres a pic of one of the inner arches and and where its been welded too
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v148/cooper_nova/DSC00053.jpg
nasty rot:(
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v148/cooper_nova/DSC00055.jpg
