will this engine fit?

will a 1.4 engine with a 5 speed box out of a 3 door astra fit into my 1990 1.2 4 speed nova? any help appreciated, im looking to swop the engine and gearbox! :thumb:

it should do as they're exactly the same engine and box, is it autochoke or manual? and is yours autochoke or manual?

is the 1.4 enigne single or multi point injection

id think it'd be the engine out of the mark3, which runs on a carb, same as the nova carb

All mk3's were injected.


It will fit ye, as its a small block 1400.
How much work depends on engine type.

If its the 61bhp dont bother, if's its the c14se or the mpi eco block go for it!

come to think of it, i've just had a brainwave, fit the 1.4 box and bottom end, use the 1.2 cylinder head and if you can get a 1.3 inlet and 1.4 carb, that way it'd all go together with no wiring difficulties :D

its a 1.4 multi point injection and auto choke,, my 1.2 is a manual choke! dont really want to be messing around swapping the head and bottom end!

if its mpi then technically it has no choke at all, and it also means 83bhp :D - SRi spec engine but likely to have dispac so no dizzy to get wet or replace every major service.
