I have to agree with Keith on this one :(
It would take a shed load of work/time and a lot of new panels, even the roof looks slightly bent too.... :(
may project "build a nova from pile of scrap metal" comence
its a shame but good luck with it...everything is repairable it just depends how far you wana go and budget i guess

fooking hell, how did that happen? hows the rear beam? or the rear beam mounts for that matter?
lol space frame the rear end and have IRS :thumb:
rear beam has been bent, the beam mounts are actually fine apart from the fact theyve moved 2" lol
iff its do able get it done mate, i would try and repair it if it was mine
well, we made a start today !! firstly took out all the interior, found out the floor is kinked and the sill has a slight bend in it :( got the car jacked high up in the air then proceded to unbolt the rear axle, came off fairly easily considering that it was bent and 1 of the mountings is a good 3" forward where vauxhall intended it to be !! emptied the fuel, about 6 gallons so at least i got something back :thumb: then i got all "baxter" and fired up the grinder ;) mainly just cut some bent metal away but its a start and we know no what were up agaisnt

should be wearing a mask, its not nice when you have a large serringe clamped to your head, and have no other choice than watch the needle coming into your eye.

Well, at least I've found a role for myself.
But, i thought the apprentice went and got spanners, made the tea and swept up, BUT, how come this apprentice supplied the tea AND the food AND the tools AND the equipment AND the workshop.

bloody hell how did it happen that car looked so good glad to see your putting it back together mate
Oh my goodness!!
So wheres the jig then? I take it there will be one involved somewhere, and a hammer bigger than king kongs first sh1t of the day? lol
You both have balls bigger than rugby balls, and way more money than sense, but when your crabbing up the road in the finished article looking at the fuel filler cap in the wing mirror, im sure it'll all be worth it. lol
Sorry, im only taking the p1ss, you must really love this car to go through this crap. Id have written the bastid off with no more than a crease in the quarter panel lol

Have you had any thoughts about how your going to go about straightening the chassis? In my mind its a waste of time trying to sort it out. Clearly its had quite a large rear impact and IMHO it will never drive the same as it once did.
you have just hacked everything out of that rear corner, for what reason? I can understand removing the outer quarter at some point but i would have had it on a jig first to straighten out the chassis rails then begin looking at the actual metal work.
Just pull all the parts off it and sent it to the scrap yard, the work involved in getting that job right is to much for a car of that age, plus sourcing parts will be a job on its own (oe parts). let it RIP
I agree with rick on this one.
The majority/all crash repairs ive seen, its put on a jig, and the chassis then pulled out with hydraulic puller(whilst panels are still on)
Then once its straight as you can get it, then the panels are removed.
well thats what i thought but toms repaired rally cars before so we'll see how it pans out, just feels good to get started tho tbh

Nice kink in the roof?

I understand your thinking guys, but, what is the point in putting the car on a jig to pull it straight, when all the rear floor and bent chassis is getting replaced with a brand new rear floor, the roof section will be repaired before the new section goes in. The front of the car has no chassis damage.
Just seems way too much work imo.
Its not repairing im worried about its finding all the panels. You will need a body side, inner b piller, rear chassis leg etc etc.......
Could cost you over a grand in parts, if you can find them !
nah, they dont have to be GM
also we will prob cut good condition parts from accident damaged stuff, least i get to learn how to weld lol

You will only get a pattern qtr and rear panel, good luck with the rest.
