Just got hold of a solenoid today (Thanks Jon aka Novaspeed), I want to remove the lock and fit the solenoid, but it will have to work off a switch until i get an alarm with a boot release function. Can anyone give me an idea how to wire it? the unit itself is fully enclosed in plastic, with 1 yellow, and 1 green wire comming from it. is it just a case of wiring the yellow to the earth, and the green to the swith (positive), or vise-versa depending on which way it pulls? :-/

Any help much appreciated,

Thanks Ben

Cheers V5uk, that guide is spot on.. just one question, why do you have to fit a relay?

the relay makes it possiable to pass loads of current, rather than making the switch take it all and get burnt out.

Dave Pearce, hmm he mixes like a man with no hands
