I bought a Nova, 01 registered with ( I believe to be genuine) 30 thousand miles. I lady owner. Bog standard, 1 ltr. clean as a whistle!
Driven it for about 300 miles. Quite a bit of biscuit coloured goo on the inside of the Oil filler Cap. :wtf: Is this normal???Small annoying oil leak from what appears to be the engine casing, centre front of car. May have to live with that one! Car was lying up for a few weeks for sure. Does not seem to have any oil contamination in the coolant fluid so head gasket ok methinks..Driving well. (sounds a bit like a small diesel on tickover but I am told this is normal for a 3 cylinder engine??)Any opinions greatly accepted and I bow to your superior knowledge of these lovely machines!

1l Nova's are normal 4 pot mate lol and it could be headgasket or it could just need an oil change! And the oil leak could be from a number of things, rocker cover, cam carrier? is it engine oil?

or maybe 91, but pressed 0 instead lol

the goo might be the first sign of headgasket failure, or maybe the head gasket has recently been changed and thats whats left?
