Anything after late 1991 should have one.
1.2i/1.4i/1.6i(gsi) novas etc.

You should really buy a new one tho with a cambelt, as they can collapse and cause the belt to loose tension=bye bye engine.

no i mean a smaller belt with no tensioner, i assume its pre 91? as mine snapped of at the block

The oil pump and belt covers are a different design on auto-tensioner engines, so i was unable to run the shorter belt from a 1.3 without changing the oil pump at least. Is it just the bolt that has snapped in the block? If so, have you tried removing whats left with a stud extactor?

Ahh right.

I removed my auto tensioner and just fitted a shorter cambelt(104tooth iirc) from a 1990 1.4SR. 111tooth is the auto tensioner belt.

All 1400's had the same waterpump, oil pump and crank sprocket round belt teeth.

That happened to me, luckily no damage was done though but it was backfiring like nothing I've heard before!

Cheers LLTN was thinking about bypassing the auto tensioner myself! :)

They do have an advantage tho, you can wip the cambelt off in no time.
No need to try and un-seize the waterpump to take the belt tension off.

sorry for the late response, no the hole has actually snapped of the block, so theres part of the block attached to it, i've ordered a 89-91? cambelt for a 1.4, from the drawings i looked at in the shop, its right :d

Should be fine.
Will have to set the tension with the water pump now.

i got the cambelt sorted, i thought id change the water pump as its sounding grindy, but i can't get it off, the bolts are too rusted, does anyone have a way of getting it off?? or are there other holes to screw into to hold the pump on and grind the old bolts off? :D

Mole grips on the bolts....

The bolt/bolt holes are needed to secure the pump, theres no other holes.
