hmm, Jamaican yellow too lol
I think the old dates are due to the previous forum database not being able to port dates across, or not being able to handle dates before a certain date.
A lot of dates that a computer doesn't know often defaults back to 01/01/70, its when Unix was "born".

mikey owen's iirc?
i found the site in march 1999, apparently it had been going a couple of months before that. It was a really poor forum at the time with the way you posted etc making it look like windows explorer lol.
the join dates got fecked up with various forum moves.

That original forum was one that kev coded himself as a little "i wonder if i can make a forum" project. He then made a much better one (which people mentioned as having the white GSi on the welcome page).
Then we switched over to phpBB 2.0 for increased reliablity and speed - and shortly after that novaload.net stopped being hosted on a server under kevs desk in his bedroom, and got a proper hosting deal. The most recent change twelve months ago switched from phpBB 2.0 to vBulletin for greater stability and vast improvements in security.
Somewhere along the way swapping from one forum to another the "joined date" got lost for some of the old, really old, members and as such the system treats the empty date field as the unix epoch - which is defined as either 31st December 1969 23:59 or 1st January 1970 00:00 depending what system is processing it really.
So, the site was created in 1999. The members with a date joined showing prior to that are most likely to be the members who were around right at the start... and still use the same account.
56k... sorry.

i remember that. we should bring it back.
every time we try to bring back the fun and games of MIRC and sybering with Kev, it falls flat on its face as people a) cant cope with old skool software and b) its boring lol.
I remember when new people would come in, if they could take an evenings abuse they passed the test lol
lol Oh the many many nights of MIRC abuse. "slaps Stuart across the face with a wet fish"
