you need to grind the backing plates off the astra gte/ mk3 cav and weld them to the nova beam (after grinding the nova ones off) then re drill the holes

you will need 4mm spacers in there somewere, either a bit of 4mm flat plate sandwiched between the axle and backing plates or just use normal wheel spacers

for the handbrake cable i used the standard nova long part and the mk2 cav short part and this was just long enough

yeah basically if you have everything else oh yeah and u will need to weld the backing plates back onto the beam, the nova brake pipes usually are ok just bend them to the right position but sometimes u may need new ones if there badly corroded

why the 4MM flat plate?? couldn't you weld the astra backing plate onto the nova plate on the beam then drill through both?? as this would give around the 4MM you need?

the astra ones are bigger than the nova ones therefore it would overhang and i think the nova ones are more than 4 mm

Would calibra or omega backing plates do?

Both different to each other.

Why the spacer? Changing the end plate on the beam to the Astra type is all that is needed. Some people have even just redrilled the Astra (disc) stub axle to fit the std Nova beam.

I'm trying to source a mk2 Cav Hbrake cable but my motor factor has told me there are 3 types of short cable. Anyone got a part no for one that works?

I'd say yes looking at them, do you have the astra back plates too? Sits behind the disc & the aliper bolts to it, plus it acts as a rear dust shield.
