i have a 1.2i 4speed

i know i can strap a f13, f16 to it etc (well i think i can lol)

iis it possible to bolt an F20 or even an F28 to it (with fwd conv kit etc)

or wont it match up to engine being a small block ???

no point. the F28 weighs shed loads more + the extra rotating mass would kill off nearly all the torque. plus youd never really need to use 6th as there isnt enough power/torque from a 1.2 to run at 70 in 6th lol.

just stick with small block boxes. saves headaches and pointless tasks

just wondering tbh not thikin bout doing it, just wondering will all boxes fit all engines or not etc

the F13 will fir the 20XE so id assume that "all" gm boxes will fit all gm engines (huge disclaimer there lol)

wether the clutch/flywheel etc lines up/fits i have no ideas lol

still i think it would be good to own the worlds onli 1.2 6speed lol even if it neva could use 6th lol

just fit a hyabusa engine then... thats bound to have 6-7 gears lmao

Some Punto's and Stilos are 1.2 6 speed so it wouldn't be the worlds only one.

lol Gearbox would probably be worth more than the car.

"Why not?"
Because its entirely pointless, 5th gear on a 1.2 puts the engine under enough strain trying to go up a slight uphill on a dual carriageway or something.... Lol

It could be done, but you seriously need to ask yourself why. The F28 after its fitted & working would be worth a grand in labour & parts combined. the 1.2 would barely be able to keep up speed in 6th. You would need to find a big block flywheel that matches the bolt pattern on the 1.2 crank & then a clutch to suit.

calm down peopel i was only asking

i wouldnt consider doing it tbh

IIRC the gearbox you have atm is a F10 (WR)? So any other gearbox you put on it would mean less accelleration and a higher top speed. Since the 1.2 wouldn't be able to stretch the std F10 the whole idea seems a bit pointless to me, other than to 'have a 6th gear for the sake of it'

I doubt you could top out a WR F10 on a 1.2 anyway

doesnt top out with a f10

and i was onli asking if it could be done

let me rephrase the original question then

so all gm boxes fit all engines (ecx 1.0)

so an f10 onto an XE or f13 onto an XE or th other way arounf F20/28 onto a 1.2

just wanted to know what fitted what

some guy on mig has a 1.6 8v (C16SE) Turbo running a F28, so yes it can be done, but the extra wieght and the fact you would need alot more torque than a 1.2 can produce to turn the gears, it's pointless. Also the cost

other way round sweetie....
the WR means less acceleration and higher top speed... a CR box is more accel less top end.

Why bother with all the time and effort.:wtf:

POINTLESS!:p
