I'm currently considering a set of Bilstein Sprintline B8's and some -50mm Eibach springs, ?205 for the shocks, ?135 for the springs from tweeks. They also offer some -60mm AVO springs for ?75 though if you want to keep it under the ?300 mark.

I run H&R -30mm Springs ?135 and KYB Excel G shocks ?103 all four.

Have to say that im well impressed with the kit. Real good quality especially the springs.

If you can fit it yourself then you'll be saving a nice amount of cash.

Know you're just after shocks so for the price you're looking at should get you a quality set of shocks.

What springs have you got?

Apex -60 springs and shocks at like 80 pounds was an ebay bargain, car looks nice, only found 1 place where speed bums were an issue and that was on a dodgy estate so wont be there again lol but that was easily solved hen my chunky passenger got out. However my units are hard as hell you feel every bump in the road, but still the handeling is spot on, corering fast and not the hint of roll and losing grip:D

I picked up a -40mm Apex kit new off ebay for 160 posted, again like bhpnos says, its hard, but the handling is great. The only bad thing about it is its not adjustable, and over those plasticy speed bumps (the short sharp ones) its a bit rattly. The only thing I would consider next time would be a set of Koni adjustables, set on soft, then gradully make them harder as the shocks naturally get softer.

KONI adjustables are good but the springs arent really low enough, so I'd have the shocks & go for H&R springs or eibachs if you can find a set or custom ones which is what I'd do I think (but I'm on coilovers) ;) .

I'd say you are in a good position to find out for yourself!

Would you take them off if I said they were pants?

Should be able to find a very good 2nd hand set of AVO's for under ?300.

I'm leaning towards the Bilstein B12 kit myself, comes with Bilstein springs and B8 Sprint shocks. Was gonna go for the B8's with a set of Eibach springs, but apparently Eibach have stopped making them and no-one's got any stock left.
Does anyone happen to know if the springs that come with the B12 kit are decent? The Bilstein Streetline kit I bought a few years back had appalling PI springs with it...
