What is your nova worth?

now its all well and good looking at parkers etc, but we all no that novas are worth a lot more than that!!!!

now if i leave it up to polar ford, my nova is worth ?25, lol

but what do you see your nova being worth, realistically, none of this well it owes me ?27375.37 balls!!!

i am asking this because i would love to get an idea of what mine is actually worth!!!

?0. lol its a Nova, its not worth much. And when it eventually gets an engine it'll be worth about ?300 tops, probably not even half that. Again, because its a Nova.

However, I doubt I'll sell it for that much as even though I wouldn't pay big money for a Nova, there's plenty of people out there who will... so when I do decide to sell don't expect it to be that cheap lol

I could think of lots of other cars I'd rather spend ~?1000 on than a Nova tbh.

I've recently asked the same question, I'd say ?200 for mine if it was going in the paper with a MOT on it. Thats after I'd taken as much as possible back to standard. Its worth as much as the person whos looking is willing to pay - i.e. you might get a good offer.

Car prices depress me anyway, you never make any money on cars :(

i bought a corsa gsi for 300 spent about 500 on it so sold my nova for 1100

then missed my nova so much i swapped it for the corsa gsi lol

Realistically novas are worth funk all.
But if people want to pay 2-3k for one, whos complaining.

90% of novas are worth more if sold in bits.

red nova was bought for ?200 then bought cav slabs for ?20 and all new tyres for ?100 so it owes ne just over ?300 but ive had offers of ?600 for the ol girl so not bad! lol

bought my red corsa for ?800 and id say its worth more than that really, i got it cheap in my eyes.could surely sell it for ?1200

the thing is if you sell a clean nova on ebay or here you'll get more than your local autotrader. i'd want at least 750 for mine as i think its worth that, but i dont think i will get that for it , dont really want to break it and sell it as irts my car and i love it to much, id would liek to sel it to someone who would make the most of i work i payed to get done. and maybe buy it back for a Xe convo in the futcher

Market value dictates what your car is worth. A quality show nova will be an exception, as will a well spec'd track car, but for a "mint" road going nova, even one thats been nicely modified etc its only worth so much money.

Probably ?1000 at a maximum really to be realistic. You can get quite a lot more car for your money these days than you get from a nova. Yes, a nova can be a brilliant little car, and is ideal as a first car, but now there are 10 year old cars out there with power steering and airbags etc that cost around the same money.

So, if you're talking realistically about what your nova is worth, take a look at the spec sheet for it - not in terms of body kits and your induction kit and back box, but in terms of power steering, electrics package, comfort etc. Compare it to what else is out there ... in most cases it doesn't get close.

IE a 15 year old 1.2 merit with an air filter and a gsi bumper & seats doesnt come close to the spec of an off the shelf saxo VTR which can be picked up for very little money these days, and will only be about 9 or ten years old. Why pay ?500 or more on a nova when for similar money you get much more car for your investment - and a much safer car at that.

vauxhall wouldn't take a twin engined nova, i doubt they'd give you a price, or would offer very little so you dont sell it

Novas are worth nothing on the market, but due to demand people pay alot more, you cant even get a banger for less than ?100 now, i've estimated people pay around twice as much as when i had my first nova 4 years ago

i paid ?200 for my nova a few weeks ago, the head had gone on it, and a few other problems, but i think i got a bargain, the shell will be mint in a few days (a few bits) and it only has 51k on the clock with full vauxhall service history, id think heading towards ?600-?700 if listed on ebay

Espcially towards christmas time and early Jan to late Feb, as all the rally boys are doing rebuilds :D hence the price of write off Evo's, Impreza's and even 106 GTi's go up lol

Depends on the work thats gone into it as well. Look at Breeny's shell for example. Thats a horrible paradox. Its a beautifully prepped shell in mint condition, but at the same time its a bare nova shell. Its worth **** all and lots of money at the same time.

Personally, i would sell the bits off mine and then get the shell crushed, as no one will pay for the amount of graft that has gone into it in my opinion.

Adn money wise, im sure im knocking on the door of 20K now, and most of thats in the engine bay, and the result of a lot of engine related disasters last year lol

people seem to thing that keepin a nova original will make it worth loads,like many of you say- its only a nova, keeping old classics/retro performance cars mint then thats good for investment but a nova is worth fk all and never will be, think of a mk1 golf gti minter, they dont go for more than ?2000 which is nothing for all those years of keeping in standard or a lot of restoration

I'd never sell a nova as a whole, ever...

I wanted about 1500 for the saloon, however I made more by breaking it. Again the hatch i did was the same story. In a sales point of view the nova is not worth bothering about even as a cheap runner as wisewood said you can pick up a better "std" spec car for the same price.

Oh and E reg saloon paid for a W reg xsara VTS with air con, climate control, pas, abs, etc etc etc etc

I missed my nova loads when I sold it and bought the starlet turbo, I was talking to the boy who I sold it too last week and he told me it had been stolen and completely stripped up the mountain :( doors the lot.

I sold it for 1250 quid.

I miss the nova so much infact, I am looking for a non rusty mk1 to make into a sport replica rally car in the new garage it took me 3 years to find, There goes the holiday with the missus this year againlol lol .

Andyracer has made me many bits for it last night was ?600 plus his corsa with a new engine in it. Also been been offered ?600 for the bear shell

i brough a 1.4sr for 50 quid already had alloys of my other car and cut the springs and spent ?100 on the mot then sold it for ?680, then a few months later i saw it drive past me and the guy had hand painted it him self bright orange... ha ha ha if you ask more than its worth people will think its better. its all in the waiting.
