the cat on my gsi is broke so i want to put a piper decat pipe on it wil it fit the original system will it give me any power gains or affect the way the car runs??

U will need to check whether u can take he cat off for ur mot!! K reg u can't I think. also fittin a decat pipe will give a power gain but to see it u'll prob need to get it tuned rite?? I know when i replaced my cat in my sri they put an empty box there instead to make up the right back pressure i think.

get a gte center section to remove the cat

I removed the cat and my GSi passed it's MOT with no problems, it is a 92 J'reg. I think that anycar fomr August 93 onwards has to have a cat fitted for the MOT, so if it is a K reg' one then unless you are willing to replace the cat every MOT then leave it on.

i have no cat on my late K and it passed fine (late K cars can be identified by the black vin tag)
