Does anyone know how to get the light switch pannel and the clock panel off on a mk2 dash. Also are all the connectors the same as the mk1 going into the clocks/ switches etc
and where can i get an ashtray , clock and hazard switch from
lol good luck finding a mk2 hazard lol took me ages! colin smith is the man to ask tho.
and no the plugs on the mk1 are different to the mk2, so you'll have to wire up most of the mk2 plugs.

lol theres 3 on ebay now
is the plug that goes into the clocks the same tho and the speedo cable the same
Plug to the dials is different between mk1-2 iirc, on my old saloon I stuck with the Mk1 dials - they'll fit and you can wedge them in with a screw in the top dash mount. The speedo cable will go right in.
Hazard switch and centre rotary heated rw/blower control plug needs rewiring, the rest are all the same (headlights, foglight etc)

thats my luck tho, i missed one on ebay once by 1minute and thenm couldnt find another anywhere, even in the breakers the only thing from the dash gone was the hazards
didnt know the mk1 clocks could fit the mk2 dash
Yeah, you can wedge them in. I put a screw half into the top mount on the dash and bent it back a little, held the Mk1 dials in perfect.

There's two tangs either side of the switch, behind it, you need to press in to get it out. Use thin L-shaped pieces of metal and put them behind the front of the switch (the backing that has the off/sidelight/headlight marking on it), the tangs are on the side. You might also need to remove the switch part (turn to sidelights, pull out as if to turn on interior light, there's a small tang underneth). Once the whole switch unit is out, undo the screw in the hole left and the section of cowling should lift off.
Clock panel, undo the two screws on the top at the back of the small tray section, then remove the passenger side centre vent (turn and pull out), there's a screw that holds it in the gap on the bottom.
