you could run the two together but it all depends what watt they are and what watt the amp is to power them or you could just use the 12" and sell the 10" or viceversa whitch ever sounds best

if the amp can run both then your bass will be much nicer with a 10 and a 12 10s are a bit moor punch than the 12 is a bit deeper so they sound good together

i was gonna run them off separate amps, i've got a sony little red thingy (been told its 400w but dont know) for the 10, and i'm getting a fli 400w with the 12.

dont run them off the same amp whatever you do as they wont be running synchronised and wont sound very good, use seperate amps, never get sony subs or any car audio as its ****e and when you buy a 1000watt sub it will acually be around 200-400 rms depending on the quality, for a decent sound system dont go to halfords and never take any advice of the workers there

ive not read all the thred so this might already be awnserd.
An amp needs to power equal power through each channel e.g: 200W left channel and 200w right. If you have two amps of different wattage then you need to bridge them.
Both Negative feeds of the speakers on the left channel negavtive port, and both possative feeds on the right channel possative port. They should sound fine!!
If you dont do this it will sound strange and damage the amp.
