well ive decided put the original camshaft back in for better everyday running and with having so much trouble with it

so now for pvs08 fit the new skirts, bumpers, (after they have been painted of course)

fit the cut down mirrors, maybe buy some more goodies along the way:p

as eastham said fella its a mixture of different paints whick buggas you up abit though when you need to get a match ie like i do for pvs08 to get my new bumpers painted lol

I rang up Vauxhall and they gave me a paint code about 1 month ago. But can't find it now.

well its back running at long last

took the camshaft out replaced with the standard one

all in all ive replaced headgasket,waterpump,alternator.alternator belt,timing belt,new cold start sensor,thermostat,air box pipe, and air filter,

gonna service it next week

but god does it run like a dream now. touch wood lol

and wow its amazing how good they are after driving the 106 rallye for a few months i was tempted but now no way :thumb:

well as some are aware my nova wont be at pv this year due to vosa

but ill update the thread its going for a genuine back panel to be fitted next week and the chassis leg to be welded up too

well after 3 weeks i took it out well to the workshop to be repaired and wow do i love it

plans before its re tested are

new front disks and pads grooved drilled etc
bumpers and skirts repainted
calipers re painted
rear headrests sorted properly
hopefully have my cut downs here

well im getting the nova back from chris's on friday then its off to my other mates to get the back brakes sorted and whatever else it bloody needs while im away

ive invested in a few new things headrest clips for the rears (thanks to novacabrio)

also got myself a set of brand new rubber mats for the floor

will get pics up when im back from my hols as i wont have time on friday idont think:thumb:

never got round to fitting them as someone told me they would make me some cut down ones, so sold the mantas but never seen anything of the cut down ones :(

after long three months of bombing round in my gf rallye the nova project is back on the go lol

it got an mot today and ive been to the local cop shop to get the vosa marker removed

and now i can drive on the public highway again with it :thumb:

yeah its getting there i sorted it out enough to get a test on it but im still really thinking of re shelling it

maybe ill bite the bullet and get the rest of the weldng done proper

It all depends where the welding needs doing. What you need to weigh up is the time to reshell and update DVLA against the time to weld up the rusty areas...
You need one of them shells lying in that big field in south of france! I'f kill for one of them!

I'd say strip it down weld it then get a full respray - if you have the time and the patience go for it - another shell unless imported is prob gonna be just as scabby. At least you know your shell.

little update its finaaly welded up nearly getting two new sills on it while im on my hols

done a few little mods in the meantime

ie rear headrest clips added
also a new strut brace
also got another gsi dash for her that does fit alot better than the old one

its goosed pal well there isnt the two bolts that attach to the bulk head maybe repairable will get a pic for you when ive took it out the dash is a good un other than that

cheers guys not going to break it ive managed to get another sri engine for it at last staying with the 1400 still even though they are not to clever as its caused me a hell of alot of problems this year lol

will be back the road in the new year i hope it is looking very sorry for it self at the mo and its amazing how quick they do rot when you dont use them

well the engine is in on the mounts just needs wiring up and the manifold putting on hopefully sometime this week then she will be back on the road will get some pics up tomoz of how she is looking abit of a sorry state :(

also got this for it for xmas of the girlfriend so after its been washed and polished and all interior been cleaned i will put it on lol

still no look with this as the dizzy dont fit were the gel pack use to be doh

awaiting camshaft tool to take the cam out and put the other in

another long and boring waiting game

The dizzy should fit fine

the hole is smaller on the engine that is in the car than the one on the floor so when you try and put the dizzy on it wont go

is it something to do with it being a corsa engine or something to do with the gel pack or is it the wrong camshaft

It should fit right on. Alls the dispak cam housing is, is a normal housing with a dizzy blanking plate on the end to replace the dizzy.
